_about matt

Matt grew up in Collinsville, Illinois where he was a true sports kid for most of his youth. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 2009 and shipped off to Truman State University where he would play soccer while he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Communication in 2014.

(Quick aside; Matt’s Sophomore year he helped the soccer team make it to the Division II National Tournament… no big deal.)

Once out of college, Matt was finding it difficult getting his career in public relations off and running, which was his plan in getting his degree in Public Communication anyway. When he was in his final semester at Truman State, he had taken an elective class called Web and Layout Design. The class was basically an introductory class to the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically, Adobe InDesign. As well as the basics of layout design. He remembered that he picked the program up very easily and he recalled having a natural feeling when working on projects for the class. He didn’t quite know how to describe it, but he just had a feeling that he was being pulled toward the world of graphic design. For once in his life, he decided to trust his intuition and see where it took him.

That very next year (2016) Matt enlisted at Full Sail University to work toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. He opted to take the accelerated-online version because he was also working 40+ hours a week at a small trade show print company to pay the bills. In 2018 he received his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and hasn’t looked back since.
